History

Judie Ann Ruggirello raised her six children after being widowed at a young age. After her children were grown, she became a Felician Nun. One afternoon she witnessed a young mother feeding her child from a dumpster. In that instance, it provided clarity on what her mission as a nun should be. Sister Judie Ann requested a leave from the Felician Community, remaining a sister in vows. She founded the Sisters of Christian Love in November 2006, with the mission to feed the hungry.

Even as one person and with limited resources, Sister was able to affect and touch many lives. She loved those that she served and called them her “Treasures”.

She cared deeply for the volunteers, family, and friends that helped and cared for her over the years.

Sister Judie died on February 24, 2018. She always wanted her mission to continue.
